Mr. Rene Ouellet, LICSW, retired from the Green House Group, PA, June 30, 2021. He helped children, teens, young adults, adults, couples and families to overcome life's difficulties for over thirty years. At GHG, PA, he provided indiviudal and family therapy for a wide range of the difficulties of childhood and adoelscence. He aimed to pull all the family's resources into the treatment and empower them to be part of the successful change. He also assisted couples and families in managing irreconcilable situations and resolving the aftermath of divorce. Rene's work drew from a range of therapeutic approaches. "Our difficulties in life can touch on all areas of our lives; family, work or school, community and our inner life. To be most effective, therapy must be a respectful, interactive process that helps each client develop the resources to meet those difficulties."Rene received a Master's of Social Work degree from Smith College School of Social Work in 1981. He also completed a two-year training program in Advanced Family Therapy and a yearlong traning program in Time Effective treatment.Rene is an adjunct faculty member at the University of New Hampshire's School for Social Work in the Master's Degree program and has also taught undergraduate courses at UNH and Granite State College. He has presented at conferences on topics related to helping clients to overcome the hurdles that block change in their lives. He provides consultation and training for the NH Division for Children, Youth and Families and the NH Division of Mental Health, school districts, community mental health centers, child care centers and residential centers throughout New Hampshire.
Rene has been a strong presence for his clients, our practice, and in our community. We wish him well in his retirement.
